How to connect Abler to Ohana Wall
Once Abler is connected, Ohana Wall pulls your children's training sessions and matches automatically and shows them on the family calendar, on your phone and on the wall screen. You do this once; it takes about five minutes.
- Time
- About 5 minutes
- Device
- A computer with Chrome or Edge, not possible on a phone
- You need
- A parent Abler account that sees the children
Why a computer?
Abler has no public API, and the “add to calendar” button in its app only copies one session at a time into your phone calendar.
Ohana Wall instead signs in the way your browser does: with two small session cookies. Those are only visible in the developer tools of a desktop browser; phone browsers don't have them. So this is done on a computer, but only once.
The steps
- Step 1
Sign in to abler.io on a computer
Open www.abler.io in Chrome or Edge and sign in with the same account you use in the Abler app. It needs to be the parent account that sees the children's sessions.
Good to know: Chrome and Edge are simplest. Firefox works too (the tab is called “Storage” there). In Safari you first have to enable the “Develop” menu in its settings.
- Step 2
Open the browser's developer tools
On Windows: press F12 or Ctrl + Shift + I. On a Mac: Cmd + Option + I.
If the shortcut does nothing: click ⋮ (three dots) at the top right, then More tools and Developer tools.
What to look forF12Ctrl + Shift + ICmd + Option + I - Step 3
Find the cookies for abler.io
Click the Application tab at the top of the developer tools. If it isn't visible, click » to see more tabs.
In the left column, under Storage, expand Cookies and select https://www.abler.io. A table of cookies appears.
What to look forApplicationStorage → Cookieshttps://www.abler.io - Step 4
Copy refreshToken
Find the row named refreshToken. Type “refresh” into the filter box above the table if the list is long.
Double-click the value in the Value column, select all (Ctrl + A / Cmd + A) and copy (Ctrl + C / Cmd + C). It is a long string of characters and must be copied whole.
What to look forrefreshTokenValueGood to know: You can also copy the value in the id_token row. It is optional, but it speeds up the first connection.
- Step 5
Paste into Ohana Wall
On the same computer, open www.ohanawall.com/app/settings and find the Abler card.
Paste refreshToken into the upper field (and id_token into the lower one if you copied it), then click Connect Abler. Ohana Wall verifies the values with Abler and fetches the coming weeks straight away.
What to look forSettings → AblerConnect AblerGood to know: The values you paste are used once and swapped for fresh ones. If you ever need to reconnect, copy new values from the browser.
- Step 6
Match each child to a family member
Under “Children in Abler” you'll see the participants Abler knows about. Pick a family member for each child.
A child's sessions only appear on the wall once they are matched, so nothing lands on the calendar unlabelled. A sync runs the moment you match someone.

What shows up on the wall
Each child's sessions and matches appear on the family calendar in yellow with a small Abler mark, in that child's lane. Changes from the coach or club, a moved session, a cancellation or a new tournament, arrive automatically every 15 minutes.
Ohana Wall keeps the Abler sign-in alive by itself. You only come back here if Abler signs the connection out, for example after you change your password. The Abler card then shows “Login expired” and you repeat the steps.
Security
The cookies are encrypted on the Ohana Wall server, never sent to a browser and never written to logs. They only give read access to the Abler calendar. Ohana Wall registers nothing, changes nothing and answers no attendance on your behalf.
You can disconnect at any time with “Disconnect” on the Abler card. That removes every imported Abler event from the calendar.
If something gets stuck
“Abler rejected those cookies”
The value is probably incomplete or already stale. Reload abler.io (F5), make sure you're signed in, copy refreshToken again with double-click, Ctrl/Cmd + A and Ctrl/Cmd + C, and paste it again.
There is no refreshToken row
Either you aren't signed in to abler.io or you picked the wrong domain in the Cookies list. Select https://www.abler.io (not a subdomain) and reload the page with the developer tools open.
No children appear under “Children in Abler”
Abler only returns participants who have events in the coming weeks. If the coach hasn't posted sessions yet, click “Sync now” once they have. The account also needs to be a parent account linked to the children in Abler.
My browser asked me to sign in to Abler again
That can happen once after connecting, because Abler issues a fresh sign-in to Ohana Wall. Just sign in again. The Ohana Wall connection is unaffected.
The Abler card says “Login expired”
Abler signed the connection out, usually after a password change. Repeat steps 1 to 5 with fresh values. The children's matches are kept.
I only have my phone
Send yourself the link to this page (ohanawall.com/help/abler) and open it on a computer when you have a moment. Everything else in Ohana Wall, Mentor, Google, Apple, meals and lists, can be set up on the phone.
